Lecture Description

 

 In this lecture, Vella briefly surveyed twenty of the major writers of Louisiana, focusing on four of her favorites: Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote, Walker Percy and Dorothy Dix. Vella received her Ph.D. in European and U.S. history from Tulane University in New Orleans and was a professor of history for over twenty years. A national level author, she also frequently served as a consultant and writer for the U.S. Department of State, Curatorial Division.
