Arthur Hardy detailed the history and traditions of Mardi Gras. In addition to being a premier tourist attraction, the event has had signiﬁcant historical and social implications over the years. Hardy spoke of the early beginnings as well as the evolution of many of the most important parade organizations. Hardy is the world’s foremost authority on Mardi Gras, and his Mardi Gras Guide is the resource of choice for parade schedules and practical information. He has become one of the principal repositories of the history and folklore surrounding the phenomenon.
