Lecture Description

Garland Robinette hosted the popular afternoon radio program “The Think Tank with Garland Robinette” on WWL radio which became a sounding board for the exceptionally complex recovery efforts in the metro area. In a mostly question-and-answer format, his lecture updated the audience on the efforts. For the twenty-one people who stayed at the College for Katrina, as well as for the entire devastated area, Robinette was the link to the outside world. His radio broadcasts during that fateful week – as well as the lengthy aftermath –contributed greatly to the region’s recovery. He presented his insight into the storm, its aftermath, and the positive directions for the future.
