The lecture was delivered by Bill Hyland and Alberta Lewis, owner of Sebastopol Plantation. Hyland presented an historical overview of the cemeteries, including a description of the famous St. Bernardians buried in the St. Louis Cemeteries as well as a discussion of the tomb styles. Both lecturers then gave a geographical tour of eight cemeteries in St. Bernard: the National Cemetery, St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, Ellen Cemetery, Merrick (or Merritt) Cemetery, True Love Cemetery (from Sebastopol Plantation), Verrettville Cemetery, Reggio Cemetery, and ﬁnally, St. Bernard Cemetery. A series of architectural drawings of St. Bernard Cemetery was presented in the lobby. The lecture was spiced up by the presence of historical reenactors, led by Amy Pecquet, Instructor of Computer Technology at the College. John Jedlan provided the Opening Act entertainment.
