Lecture Description


 Ron Chapman discussed the Battle of New Orleans, one of the defining moments of early American history. He lectured on the strategy and tactics of the battle, the context of the War of 1812, the personal histories of Jackson and Pakenham, the diverse make-up of the soldiers who fought in the Battle, the state of affairs in the area, and the impact of the Battle on local and national history.
