 William Hyland discussed the overall history of St. Bernard Parish and the surrounding areas – with special emphasis on the social and political aspects. His lecture covered the first Europeans in the area and the subsequent settlement of various cultures. He included an overview of Parish political and social leaders, important landmarks, and the interaction of the many diverse groups of people.
