 Mr. Pickles will discuss the Battle of New Orleans from the perspective of Great Britain - detailing the geopolitical consequences.

 

 

 

Lecturer Description

 

 Timothy Pickles has consulted on a large number of historical film and television projects for over 25 years, wrote New Orleans 1815, Andrew Jackson Crushes the British and was guest curator for The Historic New Orleans Collection’s 2005 exhibition The Terrible and the Brave, The Battles for New Orleans 1814-15.  He was the military consultant on The Free State of Jones and Roots (both of which were shot in part in St. Bernard Parish) as well as The Beguiled. He is trained as a gold laceman, has organized authentic, large-scale historical recreations, and, most notably, is the commander of the British forces during the commemoration activities of the Battle of New Orleans.
