The Third Regiment of the Louisiana Militia which fought in the Battle of New Orleans included the Islenos in its membership and included the full extent of the Cote d'Enbas or Lower Coast of the Mississippi River below New Orleans on both the east and west banks of the river. This territory encompassed Algiers, Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes. Most of the membership of this regiment was taken prisoner during the December 23rd Night Battle.
